Visa Information
Indian tourists can currently enter Thailand visa-free for tourism, staying up to 60 days, with this facility in place for 2025. A Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) must be submitted 3 days before arrival. For longer stays or specific purposes, travelers can apply for eVisa or Multiple Entry Tourist Visas (METV).
Health and Safety Tips
Thailand is generally safe for Indian tourists, provided they consume only bottled water and freshly cooked food, use reputable transport, and secure comprehensive travel insurance. Key health risks include mosquitoes (dengue) and foodborne illnesses, while safety concerns involve scooter accidents, scams in tourist areas, and petty theft.
Currency and Tipping
The official currency in Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB), subdivided into 100 satang, with notes in 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1,000 denominations. Indians should carry 10,000–20,000 THB cash for expenses and immigration, plus a forex card. Tipping is not mandatory but appreciated (20–100 THB) for good service.
